Local Time is a travel series produced by Heave LLC, doing business as Search Party, a California limited liability company with a mailing address of PO Box 4039, Idyllwild, CA 92549 (“Search Party,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information in connection with localtime.asearchparty.com (the “Site”) and the services we offer through it.

We try to collect only what we need to operate the Site and respond to people who reach out to us.

Information you give us

When you fill out our contact form, we collect the information you submit: your name, email address, the organization you represent, your role (optional), the stage of your project (optional), your timeframe (optional), and the message you write. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and to evaluate a potential partnership.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, our servers and analytics providers may automatically collect technical information such as your browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, referring URL, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit.

For abuse prevention on the contact form, we capture your IP address at the moment of submission, hash it using SHA-256 with a private salt, and store only the resulting hash. We do not store raw IP addresses with contact submissions.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality (such as remembering your privacy choices) and, where you consent, for analytics and marketing measurement. We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to inquiries you send via the contact form.
• Send transactional emails confirming receipt of your inquiry.
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Site — including understanding which pages are read, which assets are loaded, and where to focus our editorial effort.
• Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and rate-limit violations on the contact form.
• Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

The Site uses a tag manager to load a privacy-aware analytics service. We implement Consent Mode v2 so that analytics and advertising signals respect your choices from your very first page view.

Our pre-consent baseline grants analytics storage and denies advertising-related signals. You can change this at any time through Privacy choices.

Categories

• Necessary cookies enable basic site functionality such as remembering your consent choices. These are always active and cannot be turned off.
• Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the Site in aggregate (for example, which pages are viewed and for how long).

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it — including responding to your inquiry, maintaining business records, and complying with our legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you’ve submitted to us, email info@asearchparty.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and consistent with applicable law.

• Right to know what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, and the sources and purposes.
• Right to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
• Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@asearchparty.com and we will take steps to delete it.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site and, where appropriate, communicated to you directly.
